📖 Introduction

Surah Quraysh (سُوْرَةُ قُرَيْشٍ) is the 106th chapter of the Holy Qur’an, revealed in Makkah.

Allah reminds the Quraysh tribe of the special favor He bestowed upon them — safety and provision during their trade journeys in winter and summer.
Being custodians of the Ka’bah, they enjoyed a position of respect among the Arabs, which allowed them to travel without fear. Despite the surrounding insecurity in Arabia, they were granted peace and prosperity.

The Surah instructs them to show gratitude for these blessings by worshipping the Lord of the Ka’bah alone — not idols. It links material well-being with spiritual responsibility.

The phrase:

“Who fed them against hunger and secured them against fear”
highlights Allah’s continuous protection and provision.

Security and sustenance are among the greatest favors of Allah, and both should lead to exclusive worship of Him.

لِإِيلَافِ قُرَيْشٍ
For the accustomed security of the Quraysh.

إِيلَافِهِمْ رِحْلَةَ الشِّتَاءِ وَالصَّيْفِ
Their accustomed security in the caravan of winter and summer.

فَلْيَعْبُدُوا رَبَّ هَذَا الْبَيْتِ
Let them worship the Lord of this House,

الَّذِي أَطْعَمَهُمْ مِنْ جُوعٍ وَآمَنَهُمْ مِنْ خَوْفٍ
Who has fed them from hunger and made them safe from fear.
